Uplifted Foundation seeks to build on the impactful life work of two very different, but like-minded individuals, Phil Kane and Les Clemens. Phil and Les came from virtually opposite backgrounds. Phil was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, while Les hailed from the farmlands of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Both Phil and Les served their country, with Phil serving in the Navy in the 1950’s and Les in the Army during World War II.
Although from very different walks of life, Phil and Les developed a close friendship over the years. Phil and Les first met through a Christian Businessmen’s Chapter that met regularly for breakfast at a local restaurant in Souderton, Pennsylvania. Phil and Les were both well-known and respected business and Christian leaders in the community. They shared a passion for uplifting others through the practical application of God’s love. Both were tireless helpers of people and spared no time, talent, or treasure in their efforts to make the world a better place.
Les passed away in 2017, then Phil in 2019. Both are missed very much. Uplifted was formed because remembering Phil and Les through words and nostalgia seemed inadequate; we felt compelled to put their legacies into action. This foundation was created to build a results-focused way of carrying on their passions and putting to work the lessons that both these men taught not just their families, but everyone they encountered.
